This month at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, hip-hop heavy weights rocked the house. Dr. Dre led the way joined by NAS, Foxy Brown and AZ. The all star project dubbed "The Firm" cut tracks and vocals for an upcoming release on Interscope Records. Dre manned the helm while engineer Richard Heredia handled the details. They were assisted by Scott Kieklak. Also at Criteria, Island Recording artists MACH FIVE finished vocals on their upcoming debut release. Producer/engineer Stephen Haigler (Pixies,Helmet) oversaw the dates with assistance from Steve Robillard and P. Mark Dobson. On a local note, South Florida based shock-rockers Jack Off Jill slammed out their first national release for RISK Records. Producer Don Fleming (Sonic Youth, Hole, Dinosaur Jr.) and engineer Bill Emmons manned the controls. They were assisted by Christopher Spahr. In Criteria's Studio D, legendary producer (Everybody) Tom Dowd mixed the upcoming release from The Goods. Neal Avron (Everclear) pushed the buttons with assistance from Mark Dobson. Also, Miami’s own C-60’s completed their first offering for Spongebath Records. Producer and fellow label mate Matthew Mahaffey(SELF) lent his talents. The record was engineered by Jeremy Staska. They were assisted by Chris "Scoobie" Spahr.
